About Weebits
Early in 2008 I designed a poncho for a friend's new baby. This wasn't easy as I was not known as a knitter. However, when it was finished, friends convinced me to show the poncho to a niche retailer and they loved it. This was the start of the business as it is today.
I realised that if this was to be a business then I would have to have more products, so I designed some that were not available in the market. At the start my mother and I were the only ones doing the knitting, so this limited the number of garments that could be produced. The instant success of the garments took me completely by surprise and I quickly realised that we would never keep up.
Luckily, through a friend, we were introduced to six lovely ladies from Geraldine and they proved to be our salvation. This gave me the confidence to purchase the wool in bulk and allowed me to continue to expand the number of selected stockists and to add further designs and colours to the range.
Late in 2008 we were being stocked in a growing number of NZ stores when I got an email from Amsterdam asking whether we would consider having a distributor in the Netherlands. Suddenly the business was international and the size of the orders increased substantially.
By early 2009 we had increased the number of knitters involved and added new garment designs. Then there was another email enquiring about distribution, this time from London. The resulting increase in order sizes dramatically altered the productivity of the business.
During this time we continued to increase the number of local stores selling the products, engaged a distributor in Australia and we were receiving interest from Asia and southern Europe.
We are proud to be a sustainable company that cares about the people making our clothes and the environment.
Our aim is to supply garments as they used to be (when I was a child) with a modern twist. We are regularly adding new products to the range as we find or design garments we like and know that our clients will like as well.
Being knitted, the products cannot easily be mass produced and we want to keep production local. Because of this we have been quite selective with our outlets, as we wanted to specialise at the top end of the market. Where we have control, the stores and their locations are carefully selected so that they have some exclusivity in their area.
We still knit all our garments in New Zealand using 100% pure merino wool and the yarn is coloured using eco-friendly dyes.
Weebits has taken a firm stance to be as eco-friendly as possible throughout its operation and will continue to use NZ-made yarn and to manufacture the products locally.
Shipping & Delivery
Here's the Quick & Dirty Rundown of Everything You Need to Know for Shipping & Delivery:
- NZ orders of $125+ are eligible for FREE SHIPPING
- Orders shipping in NZ that are under $125 are charged a flat-rate of $9.00 per order (no rural surcharges)
- International shipping will be calculated at the checkout
- Generally, orders placed by 12:00 PM on business days are dispatched the same day as ordered, via overnight courier (meaning you should have your gorgeous goodies 1-2 business days after placing your order)
- 95% of packages are shipped via OVERNIGHT COURIER (Courier Post) as our standard level of service (exceptions are big & bulky items to the North Island)
- Internationl orders are shipped via NZ Post AirMail or DHL Express (you can select at checkout and delivery timeframes are provided there for each service)
- We DO NOT charge a rural surcharge (please allow additional days for rural delivery)
- Please anticipate delays after weekends, holidays and promotional times due to increased order volumes
- You'll receive a shipping confirmation e-mail when your order ships (these can sometimes end up on Spam or Junk, so please have a look there)
- Orders are dispatched Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays)

Naked Baby Eco Boutique guarantees that you will be delighted by your shopping experience with us. If you are not happy with any aspect of your purchasing experience, please let us know so we may resolve these issues. Our aim is to not only meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act, but to exceed our customers’ expectations.
Returns and Exchanges (The Quick and Dirty):
- You are welcome to return an eligible item for a refund to the original payment method within 21 days of purchase
- For purchases made online, the cost to return the item to us will be at the customer's expense (and the original shipping fee is non-refundable)
- Should you wish to exchange size or colour of an item, we will happily do so as part of our complimentary one-way exchange program (you ship the original item to us at your cost, and we will ship the replacement item to you at no additional shipping charge)
- Outside of 21 days, items may be exchanged or store credit provided, for up to 90 days
- PLEASE CHOOSE CAREFULLY FROM OUR OUTLET as these items are STRICTLY FINAL SALE (sorry, no refunds, exchanges, returns, or store credits)
- Items MUST be returned in perfect, saleable condition, including the packaging (unwashed, unused, unworn - please package carefully so they don't get damaged when shipping back to us)
- All refunds will be processed via the original payment method, once the product is received by us in saleable condition, within 7 business days
- In the unlikely event that an item is faulty, please get in touch with us ASAP to chat about next steps (please DO NOT use the item)
