We are an eco-friendly social enterprise company that produces high-quality eco products for the family. We were established in 2014.
We have two eco brands being Nil and Munch. Nil consists of our internationally renowned organic food wraps. Munch is our full range brand with a strong focus on baby and children products relating to the kitchen.
Munch has three key aspects to it:
- Sustainable ‘Motherhood’ workforce
- Eco-friendly, unique products with strong design elements
- Strong advocates for our children
Sustainable workforce
All parts of Munch are touched by mums wanting to contribute to a sustainable idea. Many tasks at Munch are done by a mum at home. We are strong supporters of the living wage. There are so many talented mums that want ‘work to fit around their children rather than having their ‘children fit around work’. We are flexible and collaborative with all our mums as traditional work structures just don’t fit with us. Munch is by parents for parents.
Eco friendly, unique products with strong design elements
The products we make are what we call ‘issue-based products’. Not that there are problems/issues with them but rather that they try to raise an issue. For example, our Munch Litter-less lunchwraps help to raise the issue of encouraging our kids to have ‘Waste free’ lunchboxes and the issues around the damage to the environment that plastic causes. The products that we make also attempt to use all-natural and biodegradable components. If they are not, at least they are reusable. Many of our products have no waste such as our beeswax wraps whereby the off cuts are used as Organic Fire Starters. Also, beauty is important and we believe products need strong beautiful design elements which we hope you enjoy.
In 2016 we won the BEST ECO-FRIENDLY COMPANY at the largest Australasian Trade show. It was judged by 30 industry buyers who believed that our products were
'of premium quality, eco friendly with great thought in regards for what the products were made from, by who and how.'
Advocacy- Stand up
We love delving into issues that confront the health of our children. We run the Munch Awards each year to raise awareness of the good and the bad in the kids food industry. Read more here.
We also believe it would be great to have a world without plastic. Read more about some of the issues we are involved in under ‘Stand up’. Linking private and public entities is vital to assisting change and we work hard to maintain our varied relationships.
We also have a strong fundraising arm whereby we offer ‘ethical fundraising’ – child lead, local, community-focused, consider the environment, educational and fun. Read more here.
