Our founder and lead designer, Michaela Weisskirchner-Barfod, is an Austrian architect living and working in the hometown of Fabelab, Copenhagen. As a former architect, Michaela finds inspiration for Fabelab’s products from stories of people around her.
We always design our products based on sustainable materials and beliefs. Reusability and upcycling are core tenets of our brand. The products we make are made from sustainable textiles from our supplier in India. Because being sustainable is something we truly strive for. For Fabelab, sustainable design is about using the right materials and ensuring a long lifespan of the products. Reusability and upcycling are core tenets of our brand. Wherever it is possible, we try to fill our product with corn fibre filling or recycled polyester.
