Merino wool is known for its skin-loving qualities - it keeps baby warm when it's cold, and cool when it's hot. It's lightweight, durable, machine washable, and 100% natural, making it gentle on our planet. Breathable and soft on the skin (not itchy to wear), studies have shown that sleeping babies in merino tend to have a deeper, more restful sleep.

The GOTS certified cotton for this product is harvested and processed with strict environmental practices in place, meaning you can feel assured that you are making good choices for both the planet and your little one. In wearing organic cotton, you will avoid allergies and skin irritations, as there's no chemical retention. It's a super-soft choice for even the most delicate of skin.

Care
Caring for Mello Merino garments is easy peasy! Being made with breathable fabric means airing a Mello garment for a few hours is usually enough to refresh and renew from 'kid' odours! When it does need to be cleaned, it is completely machine washable.
Wash on a normal warm or cool wash cycle with wool detergent. Separate into lights and darks. As this is a natural fabric, please don't use softener or bleach.
Hang on the line in the shade to dry, so as to avoid fading, or pop in the tumble dryer in the medium heat (the fabric quite likes that!).
Please do not dry clean.
A warm iron can be used. If the fabric is printed, please don't iron prints or labels.
Always clean before storing - this helps to avoid "kid" odours. For best results, store folded rather than hung.
The durability of the fabric means it will keep its shape for years. Merino wool dries super-fast, making it perfect for busy families. It's also static resistant, so it picks up less dust, making it an excellent option for little ones with asthma or allergies.
About Mello Merino
Elisa and Juliet together have created Mello Merino built on the values instilled from their childhood. Using insights gained through overseas travel and their various adventures in life, they have drawn together skills each of us has acquired throughout the weaves of our careers.
Elisa was always outside as a child, looking for adventure wherever she would go. She would wear clothes that were not typical for girls; comfort and freedom to move were far more important. With a background in child psychology and working for not-for-profits, she understands how valuable it is for kids to feel free to play, explore, and move without restrictions.
Juliet (the creative one) has a strong sense of aesthetics. She has a background in fashion design and product development, which has led her to work with and develop a love of merino fibre. She is a traveler at heart and was sold on merino when starting her travels more than 20 years ago, replacing a bulky lamb’s wool jumper in her backpack for a lightweight merino top.
Together they design and create beautiful merino wool clothing which is made from the finest merino wool. Mello Merino clothing is designed with three key elements in mind: aesthetics, comfort, and durability for kids. They believe that timeless design and quality will allow for their pieces to be handed down to siblings, cousins, and friends, from one generation to the next.
Elisa and Juliet have created Mello Merino because they want kids to feel comfortable, confident, and have freedom of movement. It's all about kids feeling great wearing Mello Merino! The clothing embodies freedom and adventure, quality, and style. It’s about buying less and choosing well.
Shipping & Delivery
Here's the Quick & Dirty Rundown of Everything You Need to Know for Shipping & Delivery:
- NZ orders of $125+ are eligible for FREE SHIPPING
- Orders shipping in NZ that are under $125 are charged a flat-rate of $9.00 per order (no rural surcharges)
- International shipping will be calculated at the checkout
- Generally, orders placed by 12:00 PM on business days are dispatched the same day as ordered, via overnight courier (meaning you should have your gorgeous goodies 1-2 business days after placing your order)
- 95% of packages are shipped via OVERNIGHT COURIER (Courier Post) as our standard level of service (exceptions are big & bulky items to the North Island)
- Internationl orders are shipped via NZ Post AirMail or DHL Express (you can select at checkout and delivery timeframes are provided there for each service)
- We DO NOT charge a rural surcharge (please allow additional days for rural delivery)
- Please anticipate delays after weekends, holidays and promotional times due to increased order volumes
- You'll receive a shipping confirmation e-mail when your order ships (these can sometimes end up on Spam or Junk, so please have a look there)
- Orders are dispatched Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays)

Naked Baby Eco Boutique guarantees that you will be delighted by your shopping experience with us. If you are not happy with any aspect of your purchasing experience, please let us know so we may resolve these issues. Our aim is to not only meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act, but to exceed our customers’ expectations.
Returns and Exchanges (The Quick and Dirty):
- You are welcome to return an eligible item for a refund to the original payment method within 21 days of purchase
- For purchases made online, the cost to return the item to us will be at the customer's expense (and the original shipping fee is non-refundable)
- Should you wish to exchange size or colour of an item, we will happily do so as part of our complimentary one-way exchange program (you ship the original item to us at your cost, and we will ship the replacement item to you at no additional shipping charge)
- Outside of 21 days, items may be exchanged or store credit provided, for up to 90 days
- PLEASE CHOOSE CAREFULLY FROM OUR OUTLET as these items are STRICTLY FINAL SALE (sorry, no refunds, exchanges, returns, or store credits)
- Items MUST be returned in perfect, saleable condition, including the packaging (unwashed, unused, unworn - please package carefully so they don't get damaged when shipping back to us)
- All refunds will be processed via the original payment method, once the product is received by us in saleable condition, within 7 business days
- In the unlikely event that an item is faulty, please get in touch with us ASAP to chat about next steps (please DO NOT use the item)
